TOWNS AND CITIES

- Famagusta. On the east coast and well worth a visit.
- Nicosia. The capital of Cyprus and a thriving, vibrant city.
HISTORICAL SITES
Bellapais Abbey. A remarkable building in a beautiful village. A ‘must see’.
Salamis. The capital of Cyprus in Roman times. The scale is awe-inspiring.
St Hilarion Castle. Stated to be the best preserved of all the Crusader castles.
Buffavento Castle. Harder to access, but an amazing site.
Kantara Castle. To the west of Cyprus and worth a visit.
Kyrenia Castle. Overlooking the harbour. Includes the shipwreck museum.
